Basal Cell Carcinoma

Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) can present in a number of ways ranging from a red scaly patch of skin, to a pearly lump on the surface.  If left untreated the BCC will continue to grow and may cause ulceration of the skin.

BCC is almost always caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet light.

BCC is generally slow growing over a number of months and virtually never spreads to other parts of the body. BCC if detected early is treatable.
