MoleAware uses dermoscopy as part of the mole screening consultation, as it is key to providing a thorough and detailed mole screening.

Dermoscopy is the latest digital technology in the detection of skin cancer. MoleAware uses the Fotofinder system, which provides advanced high definition digital dermoscopy, magnifying up to 70 times per mole image.  Moles are mapped to the site on the body and dermoscopically assessed by computer analysis.

 

Dermoscopy may increase the accuracy of the early diagnosis of melanoma and skin cancer. All images are stored and can be directly compared to future images. This allows the detection of new moles and follow-up in the future. Detecting skin cancers early can increase the chances of a positive outcome.
